How to Talk to Women

Most guys these days find it rather difficult to talk to girls when they are out and about. In fact, there are times when a guy is so self-conscious about what he is saying or the way he looks that he might not even attempt to speak to a woman even if she is giving him all the correct signs, showing that she wants to have a conversation. But when the guy does get up the nerve to speak, he usually only gets to the “Hello” stage and then shuts down. There are a few basic reasons as to why this happens and they are as follows:

1. Wants to impress the woman he is trying to talk to. Most guys think that impressing a woman will grant them easy access. This is not usually the case unless the woman is easily impressed. Don’t go on telling outlandish tales of your heroic deeds that, more than likely, never actually happened. Women get highly bored with these kinds conversations.

2. Same old conversations often lead to distractions. If the first sentence out of your mouth after introducing yourself is something like, “So what do you do for a living?” or anything that even closely resembles that, then you are bound to find the woman looking around for anything else that might attract her attention. Be humorous and a little flirty when you start a conversation. Give the woman something to focus her attention on or you will lose out fast.

3. Give into the moment and let the nice guy act fade into the distance. If you think women only want to chat about the weather or what television show you like to watch, you are wrong. Give into that little devil sitting on your shoulder and spice up your conversation just a bit. Don’t go overboard, but keep it flirty and upbeat, you might be surprised at the response you get from her.

4. Don’t be afraid of who you are. Most women like the leader of the pack type males that are comfortable with themselves and aren’t afraid to let others know it. Don’t put yourself out like you are the alpha and omega of mankind, but let them know that you are confident and proud to be who you are.

A lot of guys make these mistakes when they go out and try to talk to women and it’s completely understandable. Most of the time guys start off conversations like this and find that they will only last a couple of minutes before coming to a sudden stop. You have to think ahead and try starting conversations from your own perspective. Things like, “I love going to the movies. Just last week I went and saw a new movie on its release night and it was packed!” then ask her, “Have you ever done that before? Gone to a movie that was completely packed on its opening night?” This will show her that you enjoy something, and then include her in to the conversation, giving her the chance to tell you about a story that might have happened to her.
